11.30pm I got the call.
“Maybe you should come and stay to look after H. I’m feeling a few ‘wiggles’!”
Mrs H, in bed, not asleep, but getting there, got up when I said we should be getting there. She dressed hurriedly, packed a case and we shot off. Arriving at their house, the wiggles had become full blown contractions, so they shot off.
At 12.30, nodding off, I almost missed their call.
“Hey Nev, It’s unforgivable! I left her notes in the kitchen. They’re critical!”
A one hour round trip to the hospital! (But little Lily was worth it!)

Welcome little Lily to the World. No screams or shouts or expletives from your mum. The midwives couldn’t believe it!

Congratulations to all. I sometimes wonder about the folly of bringing a new child into this crazy world, but I'm sure people have had that same thought since the beginning of time. And all that goes out the window anyway as soon as you see them.

Thanks all. Having a little fizz right now Drew, following a blowout from a local Turkish chippie. The fizz is playing havoc with the fish; it’s Cod Wars all over again, although it might have been worse if I’d got it from Iceland (but cheaper!)
