There’s a war in our garden, it’s a war of two worlds
That’s waging, it’s true, I kid not
We’re not fighting nature in her wonderful forms
But something more slimy than snot.
I don’t like the pigeons, I don’t like the crows
I’ve no gun, so never they’re shot
But murderous thoughts they do fill up my mind
Faced with something more slimy than snot.
So whether it’s sunshine or whether it’s rain
And the weather is cold or it’s hot
The moment we see them, it’s out with the salt
And we watch the slugs morph into snot.

Well I like to eat pigeon, and when in France, and if arm twisted, snails as well. Crows are a pain as they scare away all the little birds, except the robins, who are seriously aggressive. But... slugs!🤮

I have squirrels that live in my yard that consider it their yard. Any time crows land in the yard the squirrels run at them and try to pounce on them. It's really funny to watch. The squirrels also look both ways before crossing the road in front of my house, I kid you not.

Oh, great poem, Neville. Sorry, sometimes the drabbles or the ensuing conversation sparks my thinking and I forget to say well done.

Thanks Christopher. I’d love to see them darn squirrels give the crows a run for their money!
