“I love Christmas. I love seeing the street decorations, the Christmas trees, the lights and the shop windows. It’s a time of happiness. A time for the little children. A time for me too.

You see Christmas is when I work. My big belly, white hair and beard guarantee that. Yes, I’m always in demand at Christmas. The pay’s poor but job satisfaction's great. Making children feel happy. Giving them a little something as they sit on my knee. I like all that Christmas feeling.

But this year I’m having a solitary Christmas. They say it’s for my own protection.”
