He was really short. That pissed him off since the day he realised his peers were heading skywards while his head struggled to reach bollock-height. But there were advantages in being small. You see, his town was cursed with vampires. Being below eyeline meant only his tall compatriots were targeted. They got it in the neck.
He realised though, one day, when done with the giants, it was odds-on the vampires would look down... Fence posts stored on a shelf in his barn were ideal for plunging up into their hearts. Perfect! But the stakes were too high.

Good idea Jeff, but maybe his little legs couldn't cope with the distance between the rungs... or maybe if he had his own little fella ladder he would be knackered by the time he reached the top, be puffing and blowing and give himself away. In any event I reckon he got short shrift. âšī¸
