His old mum

As a newly married man, to the girl of my dreams, I felt we should wait a couple of years before embarking upon parenthood. I felt that for a long marriage we should get to know the reality of living together first. It seems to have worked.

When our firstborn arrived we were ready for him. She was admitted to a local hospital where she shared a ward with three young mums of just 19. She was ready for the shock that would be motherhood. What she wasn’t ready for was being categorised as a ‘geriatric’ mother. At just 24!
