Resentment

We’re off on holiday this week. We’ve gone there every year for decades. The places we stay occasionally change, the length of our stay has halved and those joining us there have dwindled too over the years. But I haven’t really changed.

Discussing what to take the other day I was under pressure. I was given a ‘talking to’.

“What I really resent is carting all the booze to the flat on arrival and carting most back at the end of the week. Gone are the days when Steve, Greg and Sally came too!”

Yes, drinking was quite competitive then!
