Hup, Hup Hurray for Hupfeld

With a name like his he might have been a rottenführer in the Waffen SS. Herman the German. But Herman Hupfeld is buried where he was born and died, in Montclair, New Jersey, USA. There was nothing rotten about Herman. To me he was and remains a hero.

I don't expect you to know Herman, but I'll tell you why he has hero status in my mind. To me, he is a music legend. He wrote much, but little of lasting memory except my favourite song of all time, which only improves as time goes by. You must remember this!
