Because of vanity, every lecture I deliver has an accompanying podcast - a virtual repeat of the session. Students like them, but I like them best, because:
a) I can talk for Britain.
b) I guess I like the sound of my own voice.
c) It gets me out of the washing up.
These are quite ignoble and I duck behind the pretence of helping students.
This week as I announced my latest podcast to the class, one of the students declared:
"I used to listen to Oprah on my way to work, now I listen to you!"
Vanity rewarded magnificently!

Thanks Drew. In truth they're post-experience, so not quite kids, more mid to late twenties (it's a professional qualification), but it was a lovely end to a two and a half hour (yes!) session. And it's terrific fun! A great bunch. :-)

...and me! But they keep me young. And the undergrads keep me even younger! :-)
