The doctors'surgery had a makeover, including state of the art touch screen to record your arrival, a screen to call patients to the doctor when it's their turn. And a big TV screen carried rolling advertisements for general medical announcements.

John wasn't unintelligent, but had a rare condition where he took things extremely literally. He'd been overweight all his life, possibly a function of his parents telling him he must eat everything he was given.

Waiting to see the doctor, the command to cut out fat caught his eye. With bloodied scissors in hand, his screams would wake the dead.

    Thanks very much, Drew. I sat in the doctors' surgery with my daughter and baby today and a couple of ads on the screen prompted drabbles. this one and the next....

    Thanks, Jamie. Thanks for caring about the domestics. Their job was made more difficult because the fat was in the foyer. :-)
