Pact but standing and waiting
"She told me to wait for her at the Pearly Gates."
"Suicide pact? Joint hanging? You first?" asked the big fella.
"Yep, my folks didn't accept her. She said it was the only way for us to stay together forever. We shared everything, we were one! We shared life, we shared death."
"Shared bank account?, asked the big man. "Online banking?"
"Naturally! What was mine was hers." the man was confused.
"Even your best friend?"
"Huh?"
"That bloke coming along who looks soaked through, a typical 'jumper'....
.... Look, just how well had you known this girl? enquired St Peter.

Thanks, Drew. I was singing in the car today (as I do) a little known song called Terry by the Unknown singer Twinkle - her only hit I believe, and the mention of waiting at the Gates of Heaven prompted this. Goodness knows why I was singing it, but probably because I was being undertaken in the congestion on the M25 by motorcyclists....
