He was a very jealous man. It was a disease of the mind. Glenys, his wife, was very beautiful. She insisted though that she was as loyal as he claimed her to be beautiful.
He adored his wife... rather too much. He saw every man as a threat. He 'knew' she was having an affair with Jim, their builder. He claimed he could 'smell man' whenever he returned from work. His anxiety drove him to spike their teabags with rat poison, knowing that he and Glenys only drank coffee. (But so did Jim.)
