The man who walked backwards

Some thought he was just a loony; others thought he was scary. Fred always walked backwards.

"I like to see where I've been!"

It wasn't easy walking backwards, except for Fred, who was well experienced in this art. The art of conversation was easy though when walking with Fred. A step behind and you were facing each other.

One of the greatest advantages for Fred was that everyone in his path automatically moved aside; well you would, wouldn't you? His only change in behaviour came when he alone stepped sideways, out of the path of a runaway truck from behind.
