Memories #2

by

Creative director Patrick was a legend. A mild man, but a powerhouse of alcoholic tolerance. So we thought!

The outward flight, Clubclass, was champagne all the way. Then we, mainly Patrick, drank Paris dry. The wrap party was the veritable coup de gras. I'd learnt my lesson earlier. "Save myself for the return flight champagne," I thought.

At CDG it was difficult to get Patrick out of the taxi. Forced to use a trolley to get him to the plane, he almost died. Hospital immediately on touchdown. Touch and go! Three months off work.

Our inflight champagne lost its sparkle.

A very true story. I was the 'suit' nominally in charge of the 'creatives'. Patrick survived to drink another city dry. I was surprised that Air France let us on the return flight. "Why don't we make zem ze UK's problem?"
