Dennis was a political activist. The local Agent used him at rallies to give vocal support to candidates on the soapbox. He chose Dennis because of his loud booming voice, which was highly effective getting audience members to voice support. You wanted Dennis on your team. You really did.

Most rallies were carefully stage-managed, indoor affairs, but this candidate was a man of the people, insisting he launched his campaign in the local park.

At the end of the man's speech, Dennis roared "Hear, hear!" Over and over.

Imagine his surprise when 20 dogs, off-lead, came to heel.
