"Wimoweh!" cried the ringmaster. The penultimate act of the evening, a new troupe of tabbies dressed in lederhosen and Tyrolean hats, pitched at jaunty angles, began. But the lion, the final act of the show, didn't sleep tonight! He couldn't with all that catawauling from yodeling cats assaulting his leonine ears.

Leo was the star act - so fierce they usually kept him asleep until time for his nail-biting finale. Two clowns would normally taunt him just before he woke, each pretending to hit him with a handbag. It got them a laugh. Tonight he woke early...
