Autumn brings harvest and death and decay
The bright hopes of Spring soon will wither away
But salute then their passing on Nature’s highway
In breathtaking glory their colours display.
The sun and the rain play parts in between,
Kickstarting the growth with their bright fresh light green
That matures and will darken when Springtime has been
And hot sun of Summer comes onto the scene.
It’s part of the plan, life prospers then mellows,
And fading, cries out with its red, brown and yellows
“I’m not going quietly!” the countryside bellows
But Winter is certain to silence the fellows.

Thanks Anna Maria and Michelle. I'm so glad you like it as it's my 100th drabble and very shortly I shall have a glass of wine to celebrate!
