Waking up at 5 in the morning with the weight of the world on his shoulders, Alec pondered what he would change in his life if he could start again. He was beset with financial worries, he’d been passed over for promotion and couldn’t get a good night’s sleep.
How pointless to indulge in ‘what if?’, but Alec did so anyway. The girl who got away, the job he didn’t take, the house he didn’t buy. He turned, saw the family photo, kids and grandkids and turned back to look at his sleeping wife.
Pointless? He wouldn’t change a thing.
