The nail of Freddie’s finger slid slowly upwards, separating that in its path from the side without drawing blood. At that point, as carefully as possible, it was time to hook away, and, using his thumb to secure, start to drag downwards. Very satisfying, he thought as he started pulling. Out it came; success, but just when he might have expected the completion of his task, more and more followed, as followed a stream of unconsciousness as he started to feel light-headed. Then it was over.
Nose intact; brains in handkerchief.

No need to apologize, Neville. You put a disclaimer in the title. If anyone read it after that then it's on their own head. It was a uniquely interesting drabble.
