They taught us in history class that time is not linear but is fluid with divergent courses that intersect, run parallel to each other, double back, and sometimes merge.
Undisturbed, time swirls around us like the fingers of the wind. It can't be seen, but it can be felt, and the effects of its presence can sometimes be sensed by observing objects affected by it as if they were tumbling leaves being carried along on invisible wisps.
I wish I had listened to my instructors. Now I am a prisoner of time caught in swirling vortexes with no way out.
