Ah. I can remember it all like it was yesterday. The sights, sounds, and smells. The tears of joy and sorrow. The triumphs and disappointments. The births and deaths. I remember it all. And through all the years, I was there for them--even when I was scarred and neglected. But I didn't mind. It was my job. It's what I was made to do. I protected everyone from the harsh winters, the sweltering summers, and torrential rain.

And though they've all left me, I stand ready to fulfill my role again. After all, I'm more than just a house.

DrAbbler and Drew, I enjoy personifying many of my characters. Glad you enjoyed it.

    If these walls could talk...

A drabble series from the perspective of the house about the various people who have lived with it through the ages could be pretty cool. Might be worth giving it a shot?
