2100 seemed a hell of a long way off at the turn of the Century - beyond any normal person’s time horizon. But it’s not now. Today’s toddlers could be alive and kicking in their 90’s helped by medical science, flicking through January’s holiday brochures for all-inclusive inter-galactic cruises. Provided they haven’t run out of money or luck.
Amazingly these kids can fairly confidently expect to reach the next Millennium and experience who knows what scientific and social advances in between? Afterall the 20thC managed to absorb two world wars and the doubling of global life expectancy. Anything’s possible.

A very thoughtful piece Steve. It got me thinking about our little-uns and doing the arithmetic.

Great drabble, Steve. The way I've been feeling lately, the next decade is questionable for me!
