First Time Encounters

As a first-time drablr it feels like entering a new society, similar to an appearance at a debutants' ball I suspect. Should one be timid or outrageously bold? How to attract attention in a gracious inquisitive way?
In case you wondered I'm not a woman, nor frequent elite circles. My thoughts are pure conjecture.
Best approach is to launch straight in and blow the consequences! This technique worked for me and my wife sparking off a most absorbing relationship.
At the outset no high society ball for us, instead an improvised encounter in the back of a Mini Minor!
