Déjà vu

"If you kids don't calm down, I'm turning this car around right now."

The kids stuttered, pointing ahead. She yelled, "That's it!"

She glanced ahead, turning the wheel around when one kid yelled.

"Truck!"

A giant truck slammed into them, climbing over them, crushing the victims inside.

The woman blinked, snapping out of her daydream, the kids still laughing.

She looked ahead, the truck in the distance.

She watched it go by, holding her breath.

The kids laughed, signalling the truck to beep its horn. The driver obliged.

The mother pulled off the road, sighing. Being a parent was hard.
