Just a Reminder

Sometimes, she cursed him after he had left her house. He visited her almost every weekend. He had married money, though, and this was a relief. If he had not married her daughter in law then he would have been dependent on her. He had driven them broke with his heroin habit, and his father went to an early grave, too. He told her that heroin is made from beautiful poppy flowers. She never forgot the look on his face when he saw the couch with poppy upholstery that she had bought for him to sit upon during his visits.
