The entertainer bore no resemblance to the famous singer-songwriter as whom he was billed. He could carry a tune and the pub was full of Saturday night revellers. As the intro signalled one of "his" most popular hits, an elderly couple got up to dance in a compact area between "The Turn" and the tables ( more of a gangway than a dancefloor! ). As the chorus neared the dance tempo increased and the spinning went from fandango to whirling dervish. Terminal velocity was attained and the lady was catapulted into the crowd. Glad to say, no-one harmed.
