Goodnight Moon

“If I were you, I would prepare for the worst. We have no idea what is causing this but if we make it ‘till morning we will let you know.”
I couldn’t believe what the weatherman was saying. No more moon. How could this possibly happen?
“Momma, is it true? We’re not gonna make it ‘till morning?”
My little one was standing in the doorway clutching her teddy bear.
“No sweetie, nothing is going to happen to you, I promise, mommy has you.”
I was trying to convince myself too.
