Sean’s batsmanship was awe inspiring, carving centuries in unlikely circumstances. His sportsmanship was legendary. He was respectful to the umpires and to the opposition players.

On the day of the World Cup Final the ground was packed with a television audience of millions. His team was under the cosh as the ball was skied in his direction. Sean twisted and turned as the ball juggled in his hands. As he fell it dropped out of his hands but he managed to scoop it up. He was confident his reputation would support him.

The third umpire had the evidence. Not out.
