John had always loved going to the seaside. Living in the Midlands it was a bit of a trek but he would drive over to the east coast twice a year with his family.

As he aged he would still go at least once a year just to see the sea but when he stopped driving it became more difficult until one of his pub pals offered to take him. They were stuck behind an articulated lorry for miles. When they reached a stretch of dual carriageway he urged his pal to overtake it.

“I’ve read this one,” he said

    A lovely drabble to read on a winter morning, stuck in the city 🙂 but I did not understand what John meant by ''I've read this one?'' Sorry Brian, I am a bit slow this morning...

    Is it because they have those signs posted on the back of those trucks? A lot of trucks here in America have things on the back like "Stay Back At Least 200 Ft" as well as a lot of other warnings.
