John was studying the sexual activities of care home residents as part of his Masters Degree in Sociology.

Three homes were willing to participate but the response from the residents was varied as their care needs changed. John found that enough were willing to take part to make the research worthwhile.

When the report was published it was the comments by the the middle aged ‘children’ that raised a few eyebrows. They were concerned about these relationships and were worried about their vulnerable mothers but there was a degree of pleasure that there was some life left in their dads.
