When the bus stopped at the shop the old man in front of John got up. It took a while for his faltering steps to reach the door but as he stepped onto the pavement and turned, John recognised his old football teammate, Dave.

Dave was a nimble winger who could turn defenders over with his trick. He was obviously left footed but would always move to cut inside on his right. As the defender stepped across, Dave moved on the outside and ran on leaving the full back floundering.

John wondered about the back stories of the other passengers.

From now on, Brian, whenever I’m travelling on our local bus, I will try to imagine the back story of the few passengers (usually all of a certain age). Coincidentally listening to a radio programme interviewing pioneers of the women’s game from times when it was banned by the FA. The back stories of these impressive older women are amazing, but not as amazing as the outrageousness of the environment keeping them down!

I loved it! I too wonder about people's stories on the bus and I wonder if they wonder about mine.

Now you’ve got me wondering about your story, Frenchie! 🤔. I think that maybe my story has been told over and over again in drabbles here to a high level of boredom.🤭
