A Very Busy Man
The structural engineering project in the North East faltered until John Colton arrived to establish a working relationship with Bill, the foreman, who, later, invited him home to meet his wife. She greeted them with a cuppa tea and homemade cake.
On the way back to the hotel Bill said,”We could meet my fancy woman.” They had another cake and cuppa.
On leaving Bill suggested they went to see his young girl friend who greeted them not only with tea and cake but with their newborn baby.
As they shook hands John felt bewildered by the foreman’s very active lifestyle.

Now that Bill sounds like a busy man, possibly a man rather partial to having his cake and eating it! And I wonder if he’s got another bun or two in the oven somewhere else. What a swordsman! And you’ve marked this as a ‘true story told as fiction’ Brian, so you obviously know some interesting folk.
