Doug had been retired a while and was beginning to find the days long and boring.
“They need an assistant at the garage. Get yourself down there,” his wife urged.

“We need someone like you to help us set up our new Click and Collect centre,” Joan, the owner, said. “Can you come tomorrow?”

With renewed energy Doug soon converted the back room as a delighted Joan labelled the shelves. The customers liked his easy charm and the efficiency of his organisation. She was thinking of more ways of using his skills but would he want to work full time.

It all depends if Doug has sports or hobbies to fill the rest of his time. If not, then why not go full time or a percentage of full time and be fulfilled?

This is a great story. I'm not sure if it is happy or sad. Just like the best stories.

Welcome Speculoos. Made me realise my drabbles have lost their sparkle. We get our Lotus biscuits from Poundland. Sometimes we treat ourselves to the chocolate covered ones.

Chocolate lotus biscuits sound amazing. I am already planning a Poundland trip.

Poundland...An essential shopping venue I have missed out on for a year and a half.
