The door bell rang.

“Must be the man to read the meter,” his wife said. James ignored the bell and went to the bathroom to get ready for the day.

In a flash a hooded man was behind him, yelling.
“Get down on the floor.”
A cold gun to the neck persuaded him to fall to the ground.

James was taken handcuffed with a jacket draped round his shoulders. He had been abducted by separatists.

When a deputy minister was kidnapped and killed James feared for his life. The days were long as negotiations stalled.

Release came after 59 days.

I posted this story on my Facebook page and a friend in Montreal recognised the story that involved Quebec separatists.

I had assumed that it was a Middle East situation. But Quebec I would never have guessed. Merde!
