Oh the joy. Oh the pleasure, the inner satisfaction of glycyrrhiza glabro.
A tin full of liquorice pellets make the taste buds go round. A blast from the past - Nipits - has landed at our chemists.

When the war was over we were on rations even for sweets but the Chemist Confectionery Works ( Est: 1921) had the answer. Liquorice dynamite was the weapon of choice. As it clarified the voice and cleared the throat it was classed as medicinal.

Too late it was discovered that overdosing was a health risk. If it happens meI’ll nip it in the bud. Aah.

Nip it... Nipit... loveit! Liquorice, I love that too. Now as an 18 year old, you wouldn’t expect me to remember Nipits, but I do remember reading, to my horror, that overdosing liquorice was bad for one. Are there no pleasures left?
