CHAIR FITNESS CIRCUIT

MORNING: 5 4 1 5 1 2 5
AFTERNOON: 1 1 1 5 2 2 5
EVENING: 3 5 2 3 5

CHAIR KEY: 1. Recliner. 2. Couch 3. Dining. 4. Den 5. Toilet.

For all you oldies out there let me introduce you to the Chair Fitness Circuit. Just follow the organisation and repetition and you will stay young for ever. This circuit guides you to a variety of chairs to satisfy your needs. When you move between chairs take deep breaths and sigh. Easy now.

I resisted the temptation to call the toilet Number One.

Love it Brian; absolutely love it. You are really on a roll! I can just imagine a follow up drabble with sounds to accompany the various chairs!

Thank you. I’m more comfortable doing one offs. I thought lockdown would limit my points of observation. At the moment I am amazed how many situations feed my voice.

I agree with you there. There are so many things that happen, absurdities, kindnesses, all manner of things that are great for one-offs. I am four fifths of the way through a novel in drabbles (800 drabbles done so far), and have been all through both lockdowns, but I just can’t seem to muster the creative energy to complete it, which is frustrating... but one-offs are much easier. One doesn’t have to think them through too much. I’m trying hard to get up momentum again though to finish that story.

80000 words seems a lot to me. How would it feel to finish now. I like open ended conclusions.

It is quite a lot and it probably needs 20-30,000 more to take it up to where the story started (most of it has been in flashback thus far). And it needs a dramatic finale! It’s a London Italian Mafia tale the idea for which came from the vicar at a funeral for a friend of my in-laws. The vicar told everybody that before he would start the service he would wait for them all to switch off their mobile phones, even if they knew they’d already switched them to silent. He was in earnest. I thought, ‘what if someone hadn’t done so and got a call?’ And that was it.

Think a lot of indoor cats might identify with this if they could understand it :-))))
