“You are too young to worry. Don’t we meet all your needs?”
“No.”
“When you grow up you can do this, on your own.”
“On my own?”
“Not needing us.”
“…but I will always be your child.”
“One day your hands will grow into your abilities.”
“I can already do what I want to.”
“You desire too much. I hate to say this, but you will leave us one day.”
“Why would I leave?”
“The real world is not a fantasy. When you learn the difference you will understand.”
“Wait! Why would I leave?”
“Are all your needs met?”
“No.”

A nice, thought-provoking drabble. I really liked it, perhaps because I can (in a roundabout manner) relate to it.

Thank you! I have been away from Drabble for a bit, so I am late writing back. Work, work, work....and then you just have to come Drabble again!
