The Table

We were sitting at the dining table when the text came through. I don't like the kids using their phone when they're eating so I decided not to check it until later - set a good example and all that.

I didn't read it until after they'd gone to bed. Den had been called out to an emergency repair when we finished our meal. At least, that's what he said it was....

At first, I didn't believe it. Then I read it again. And it all made sense. The late night calls, the secretive behaviour. Of course it was an affair.
