“Speak to me, Karen.” Phil was nervous. She was really mad this time.

“It’s over,” she finally said. She sounded serious.

Suddenly the phone line clicked; another voice chimed through the handset.

“Karen Hill? Phillip Kennedy?” it said in a rushed tone.

“Who is this?” they both said in unison.

“We’re talking to you through an Einstein-Rosen bridge. We’ve broken every universal law to reach you. For the sake of humanity, it’s imperative that you remain together. Your unborn child will save the world. Will save everyone.” The line clicked again.

Karen broke the silence. “We need to talk.”

Interesting little story. I definitely wasn't expecting the sci-fi to pop up (I didn't see the category listing until afterwards), but I think it works well in this story. It is definitely original, the way you place it in the plot. Good job!

This is great. It really gets you thinking about so many possibilities.
