The spotlight light captures every trace as hoots and hollers set the pace, while she spins around as if in a race, she’s no hope of ever winning.
In her home her children weep, cold and hungry they cannot sleep for wondering what they must not speak of dancing naked and futures bleak.
Crowds go mad hurling dollar bills, her clothes come off and she feels the chill of all that’s gone wrong despite her will.
The music fades; she’s center stage, on her knees collecting cash, paper money feels like trash as she tells herself to keep on trying.
