M'Lady was fortunate to leave behind a huge fortune.
Gibberish, her butler, felt that it was his good fortune that she had a huge behind. According to rumour (below stairs) he liked that. He spent considerable time below stairs, did Gibberish, even when he was in m'Lady's boudoir.
Lord Grope. A self-made man, he'd amassed a huge fortune by astutely being born into the right family. Also, he might be dead.
Lavinia, sweet as pie (just out the oven) i.e. hot.
