Necklace Guild #6

by

Lord Harcourt was never one to soil his hands with the menial day-to-day running of the estate, and since Lady Harcourt’s death visits to his estate and his daughter were infrequent and always brief. His land’s increasing profitability delighted him, its revenue affording a more than comfortable existence, while it was the attention he gained in the City and particularly in The Lords, that provided revenue for his vanity. Yet while he took pleasure in his eminence in Parliament, his greatest source of pride came from the fact that his estate bordered that of the Duke of Northumberland.
