Cafe Jazz #13

by

The next day Le Café Duc was unusually busy. The morning rush had started earlier than usual and continued on through until well after lunchtime.
He wasn’t particularly looking out for them, but the waiter didn’t see either Colin or Helena all day. He really didn’t have time to wonder about them, though. He just concentrated on waiting, and serving, and checking whether everything was good with the meals, and in the few idle moments he did have he studied the faces of his clientele as they left and made up stories in his head about them and their lives.

Ignore my previous comment... it’s now clear, having processed the title of this drabble, that the story ends here.... but my first comment above stands.

No, no, no. Please, the story can’t end here. It would be like offering me a bag of sweets and snatching it away just as my hand reach it.
I need to know if it other waiter who is crazy, after all and bumped them off in the night. Me thinks I read too much crime novels, hehehe.

I've been thinking about what happens to them both in the future, but I'll leave this here - for now ;) - for once I'll keep to my intended aim of showing how people let themselves be influenced by unintended actions/consequences of others, and perhaps put their own worries or concerns onto the actions of others to justify their own actions. (If you see what I mean? lol).

That waiter ruined what could've been a beautiful romance. I hope the post script is someone accidentally pushing the gas and driving through the front glass, hitting the waiter, tossing him across the room and impaling him on a coat rack!

Haha Don't beat about the bush Christopher, you say it as it is ;) I can see you're not president of the waiters fan club :)
