Second Sun #126

by

"Lord Hevne, we cannot risk anyone's safety..." he drew his sword, "if you don't wish to destroy this beast, I will happily destroy it "
Hevne raised her hand and pressed her palm against the tip of his outstretched sword.
"I wish for no more killing, Darion. Yesterday saw sufficient. Sheath your sword," she whispered.
Darion didn't move.
But the worm did.
It moved one antennae. Very slightly.
And in one motion Darion's legs buckled beneath him, his arms weakened dropping his sword and his head fell forward in agony into his hands as he screamed in pain and fear.

Well don’t say I didn’t warn you Darion! (What’s that? You can’t say or do anything any more? Probably best that way...)

Thanks Christopher. I have to get back to this sooner rather than later, but other stories are taking over at the moment.
