Second Sun #114

"My Lord Hevne!" the voice of a tracker gasped. He was by her side in an instant, the point of his sword reaching past her and squeezing onto the abdomen of the creature.
"Stay still, Beast!" the tracker ordered.
Hevne pulled herself off the creature and, her sword also held against the creature's side, she looked closely at it.
In shape it was much like an enormous, headless beetle, but more wormlike and elongated. Hevne could see that it lay on its back, tiny legs waving futilely in the air. Prone, it looked about the size of an adult warrior.

Ah! Waving itโ€™s little legs in the air! I almost feel sorry for it! Still, it is the enemy, maybe...

Well, I'm back in case anyone missed me. Good grief, I've got a lot of catching up to do! I'd like to say I had some great adventure like getting kidnapped by gypsies but really it was just being busy and one day turned to two days turned to two months.

Really looking forward to getting back to this story.

I certainly missed you Christopher and I must admit was concerned for you. I am glad it was just overwork and not overdoing things. A gypsy kidnap does sound rather exciting though... you never know... Welcome back!๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks, mate. Things just piled up on me. About a month ago I wrote a drabble and I was going to post it and then I thought I needed to come back and catch up with the postings here first and I just couldn't find the time. But as soon as I finish catching up with Drew's and your postings I'll post the one I wrote. It involves a scarecrow I met in a field.

    Thanks for the concern.

Haha glad you're back mate, I've missed you - also glad it wasn't anything health-wise that was keeping you away. Anyway, you're here now and all's well with the Drablsphere :)
