"No you won't," the boy cried aloud, "The bridge won't fall! I'll never stop believing! Never!"
The monster shook his head and, wiping tears from its muzzle, opened the wardrobe door. And the boy saw the crumbling stone bridge, a neglected edifice, almost derelict, disappearing into a far distant black backdrop of twinkling stars. Even as he watched, another piece crumbled away. He turned to see if the monster was still there and another, larger, piece fell away.
