Second Sun #9

by

This day needs no Second Sun to portend what is to be, thought Jibrith. He considered it unnecessary to consult the Seers at the Oracle, though they, too, predicted calamity. The grey children of the Farlands, whose blindness sent them underground in times of fear, were preparing their burrows. The bloods and the runes, as read by the Primitives in the Highlands of Kamkarra, foresaw the weeping of many mothers.
Jibrith sighed.
Yes, Hevne was right. It was unwise to await the Fear here in Kamkarra. Better by far to meet it at its next grasping: the island of Silkarra.

    The Fear. Sounds rather menacing.

Not sure where this is going, Drew, but I’m strapped in my seatbelt really tight! 🤢

Cheers folks. Might be scary, on the other hand they may meet the enemy and they could turn out be friendy and it'll all end happily ever after :)

'The grey children of the Farlands...Preparing their burrows . Love how that hints at what they're like. :)

Thanks Jamie. I like them so much I may write about them at some point, though not necessarily in this series.
