Roylsden #177

by

I heard words tumble out of my mouth.
Some words I knew, some were just sounds and noises wearing my voice, but I wasn't paying much attention.
Above me, the ceiling spun round and round, sometimes slow, sometimes fast. Then it blurred grey and went far away. Grandma studied me closely. Despite her tears and thoughts of burying her granddaughter, she grimaced a smile.
Come on, Anna, she'd say a million times. You can do it.
And... y'know? As my words dribbled out, as the ceiling spun, as I saw Grandma stop thinking I was dying, I knew I could.

Sorry folks, I've not written on here for a while, and it feels likes ages, even though I've been keeping up with all the tales on here. Apart from being generally busy, I've also submitted a few short stories to a couple of anthologies (after all, it's about time I had some more rejection emails to read, lol).
However, I've more time to play with now, so I intend to sort out those people of Roylsden before I completely forget what's happened already. Thanks for your patience :)

It’s good to see the story back - like picking up the book again that you half read on holiday wondering how it’s going to end and so beautifully and expressively written.

Thank you so much guys, I really appreciate your comments and your support :)
No worries on the health side, Peter, at least not for me. Can't be too sure about Anna and the others though...
