Roylsden #150

by

Cole massaged his aching neck.
The moon slipped away.
He was deliberately avoiding going into the Cody place.
The realisation struck him like a blow in the face and he grimaced.
While he stayed away the kid could still be alive.
Could.
Or Ma Cody could be weeping for a lost child.
Cole inhaled slowly.
He could face a gun. Face killing another man.
He could stand proud and face his own death, no problem.
But this?
This was wrong. More, this was a faceless wrong, a motiveless wrong.
Then, desperately trying not to think, he walked towards the door.

Oh lawks-a-mercy! Take care why don’t you! Keep Anna Cody safe. My nails are bit to the quick.

Congratulations on reaching 150 so far. From what you’ve said earlier, I guess you didn’t expect to be there, but I love the way the story has developed Drew.

Ditto what Neville said. I just got caught up again. Haven't had the time lately to get here every day.

Thanks guys. How's the ankle Christopher, hope you're seeing some improvement!
Neville, I really didn't expect to have hit 150, but these things take over don't they? I appreciateyou guys sticking with it! And isn't it about time Paulo had a bit more action with - or running away from - his groupies (they'd probably kill me for calling them that!)

The ankle is still swelled, Drew. I have to see a vascular surgeon in a couple of weeks to see if it's restrictive blood flow in my leg that's causing the swelling. I'm hurting now all the way up my calf muscle so I'm afraid that's what it is. I just hope I don't have to have surgery to correct it. Thanks for asking. 😊

Sorry to hack Drew’s drabble, but very sorry to hear about your ankle/leg, Christopher, but glad you’re going to see an expert. Let’s hope it’s sorted soon. Best wishes to you.

Thanks, Neville. I'm rather concerned about it. I'm going two weeks from Tuesday to the specialist so maybe they can tell me something then.
