The villa on Thassos, the marble bathrooms that astonished you, and the steps leading down to the bay.
The classic cars, garaged history where we first made love, Ferarris to Triumph Heralds.
The worldwide investments. Mainly ethical since I met you.
The Swiss accounts, safe investments I entrust to those who sculpt money out of money.
The apartment in Battersea, London. You remember, the one with views over central London, to Highgate and the hills beyond? Where at night the blackbrowed Thames is teased by the lights of the city.
All these I’d leave if you would just say “Come”.

Nicely bittersweet. Everyone should be able to relate to this one in some way, Drew. I like how the drabble hints that love made the narrator a better person.

Thank you, yes, that was the intention, and perhaps to show how something that may be transient can have greater impact than wealth and luxury.

The unwritten level of longing expands this Drabble beyond itself. Very good. This is the first time I have read it, hence the 11 month delay. I'm still playing catch-up.
