She was 26, looked 17, part-time job as a hairdresser, and loved her son with an intensity and devotion that was beautiful, and - to me - surprisingly alluring. When I told her there was nothing quite as sexy as a beautiful woman looking after and caring for her gorgeous child, she looked disappointed.

“It’s all I do, and I cant do that properly” she said quietly.

You're a brilliant parent, I told her. Just look at how happy he always is.
She nodded but didn’t believe.

My world fell into my stomach, and I hugged her.

That was the start.

Thank you both. These stories are my first attempt at romance, so apart from my own experience I'm totally out of my depth and lacking in confidence here (ooh look, I'm being open and honest about emotions, now there's a first!! haha). I'm concious of trying not to get too slushy sentimental or too offhand and factual - so your comments are both a confidence boost and very welcome ;)
    Thank you again

I don't think that any of the series has come off as slushy or sentimental, Drew. You're doing a very fine job, sir. :-)
